A new year is coming, and im going to make a list of fansy "to do" projects soon, as many fellow modelers and painters do. For now, ill just share some more FoW armor I got painted.

All armor gathered up:

Long time no post.

At last i managed to paint some Flames of War. First time making camo with airbrush, and its awesome... no, Awesome compared to my usual FoW painting.

Hopefully more tanks to come!
I finally managed to start making layout for laser-cut infinity buildings. Quick sneakpic:

Currently I'm designing them to be assembled like Micro Art Studios buildings, but I think of changing that. Also design of my buildings will be much less sci-fi, more conventional.

Upd.
And than, i saw that:
And now, im like "screw MAS, i know how my buildings would look like" (no offense intended).

Sketch

I needed a suitable mentor for players to appear in Dark Heresy campaign that I hope to GM soon.
Unnamed (at this point) Ordo Hereticus inquisitor with almost radical beliefs, yet she is about to burn anyone who dare to make such accusations.

I highly base the model on Inquisitor Adrastia from Dawn of War: Retribution, so i will need to do much sculpting, or (which is much more probable) i will find a better sculptor than me to have the work done.

More buildings, less free time.

Some Post-apoc/Necromunda/Africa trash huts i already finished.

And a group shot.

Shanty town Mk.2

I considered the mistakes of previous buildings. New ones are much smaller. I think of doing clusters with around 2-3 layers of huts, and put some more details in them, like plain, non goffered plates, wooden planks  and real doors. Also I did some walkways for warriors (be it Necromunda gangers, or some military man causing democracy in poor quarters of Arabic country) to navigate between roofs.

Wellcome to shanty town!

Ideas come and come. Some stay for a long time, and don't let me go. Other are no more than the flash in the night, what weathers in a matter of days. Yet I don't know witch group this project belong to.
I got my hands on some cheap goffered cardboard recently, and that led to some post-apoc style terrain pieces.

Some fences and entrance to the settlement. It will be definitely called Jane'sTown.

Though, I wish i had some miniatures near when I did the houses. Only today I figured out they are way to big. Well, i guess that makes this the houses of some really rich ppl. Next buildings will be half as big, with lower ceilings. On the second thought, i can make more huts on the roofs of this ones.
The door portals are covered with jeans fabric to curtain the entrances. Maybe ill make actual doors on the future buildings.
And yeah, cardboard i got is colored in random colors, so i made pictures greyscale. That should prevent your eyes from bleeding.

Pocahontas and Hatico

I found few guys in our community willing to play some Necromunda. And as i play mainly Escher i found myself in need to make some female Hired Guns. I was pretty much lucky to find a beautiful Reaper miniature sculpted by Werner Klocke in my bitz box.

Ratskin scout conversion. Her name is Matoaka, and she is only half a ratskin. Her mother was raped in past by a filthy british colonist uphive invader, and gave a birth to a girl. Though Matoaka was raised with all the traditions of her people, there were little that tied her to the tribe after the death of mother.
She started the life of a mercenary, utilizing her knowledge of underhive nature. Eventually she met her father, gathering his scalp and his skull in the process.
Maybe the model don't have all the native american look, but i like the result. The rats from Queek Headtaker base came in handy too.

Thats something i wanted to do for a long time now. A Cybermastiff, based on a conversion i found in the web. I call him Hatico.

More terrain for terrain god! Billboards for Necromunda/Infinity. Gonna make a ladders and maybe lower the railings for a section.

The bad and the ugly

From the very beginning Necromunda wasn't so Warhammerish40k to me. I liked to see it like a "setting in a setting", where all the stuff like xenos, warp and even the Emperor himself does not really matters. All Necromunda was about is gang wars, lone bounty hunters and ordinary people seeking their place in unfriendly and deadly environment of underhive.
And than Borderlands came out. I could not believe how this game resembles Necromunda. The bandits, aggressive wildlife, cities made of trash and "parts that we have around". Since than i can not imagine Necromunda without Borderlands style.
And while playing Borderlands 2 i was inspired to make this guys from some leftover bits.

To the left is some random bandit. Living in ash wastes cost him severe brain damage and a little disfigurement, yet boosted his aggressive nature. By the way, friends call him Freddy.
Right one is a well known pit fighter, turned a well known bounty hunter.
Still need to add some pouches and belts here and there. And maybe ill play some old good Necromunda later this month.

Humble activity

Last days was not very productive, as i was occupied by my other hobby - video gaming. I.e. by this game:

Awesome storyline, great humor, cool enemies and shitload of guns.
Anyway, here is some furniture i made.

Shot to compare scale. Furniture turned to bulky for RedBox minis, but it fit pretty good for Warhammer or Warmachine figures. Need to get some bottles, dishes and cups to get this tavern tables to life. Tavern is to be done later though.

I also started to make my custom character figure for IK rpg. He used to be Warhammer FB witch hunter, but i will sculpt some straps and belts here and there, iron armor on shoulder, knees and boots and eventually (when i find a suitable head) hood.

Meanwhile in the Kingdoms of Iron

Aside from painting miniatures for this weeks Dungeon Crawl test, i was able to make some more casting experiments:

Thats why i really started casting stuff. Now i need to make molds for medium and large bases oh the same design. And when ill be able to defeat this pesky little bubbles this bases will be available to my fellow wargamers.
Besides im working on the new kind of  wooden dock bases, to go along with upcoming terrain piece.
I also tried some casted bases on minis for Iron Kingdoms RPG. A fighter archetype adventurer, an Nyss elf sorceress and a gobber rogue.

The last picture clearly persuaded me, that someday i will have to take photo-shooting lessons.
Someday not today...

Goodies

Since 2 weeks ago i started to have some more time to spent on my hobbies, yet i got a habbit of posting at sundays.
I did a couple more tiles for dungeon crawling:

Result of molding/casting experiments. The scratch build door compared to to casted one.

I also managed to paint some figures for this project and for norse themed fantasy project of a friend.
An elven (presumably) mage and  dark elf/drow/dunmer chick.

Spiders and treasure tokens. Not the best paint jobs i ever did, still better than pre-painted D&D minis.

The last but not the least. A mighty jotun still very "paint in progress".

Dungeon Crawl

Firstly a disclaimer:
I started my blog mainly to show my painting, modeling and gaming experience to russian community. But, since i started commenting in english speaking blogs, i noticed some number of visitors from other countries, notably USA and Germany.  So in case any of foreigners will find my staff interesting, and for the sake of exchanging experiences with other blogers, i decided to go for an english.

And in my 1st english post I'd like to overview a project, witch i got interested in just recently.
I was playing role-playing games for some time now, and familiar with the concept of Dungeon Crawlers, like the old Warhammer Quest. But this thread boosted my interest. Author of the thread gave the link to his own rules, and posted some pictures of his games using Red Box Games miniatures. And that was great, since not only they were inspiring, but also i have a bunch of RBG minis to use!

I decided to give it a try.

Just 40 minutes of work, and i had testing elements like corridors, room and a door.

After that, i did a quick trip to local gaming stores, and found nasty D&D monsters and few scenery elements i can use.

I also raided bitz-box of my friend - an lgs sales manager. That left me with interesting LotR bitz and a troll. A pretty productive beginning. I hope project will continue just well.

And a few words about something, that i hope will help me with this and other projects:

Халтурка

Изучение систем управления и защиты реакторных установок не самое легкое и интересное занятие, потому я решил хотябы в хобби заняться чем-то незамысловатым.
На досуге намалевал Netrods

ARO. "Dodge is a Short Skill that allows a PH Face to Face Roll to be made against BS, CC, PH or Forward Observer Skills to avoid an enemy attack in LoF." "This Short Movement Skill (Change Facing) allows a miniature to change the direction of his facing without moving."
- "If deviation prompts the figure to fall outside the battlefield, he will have to spend an extra Order from the Order Reserve to appear on the border of the game table at the point where he would have left."
